Hungary has absolutely no need of a new nuclear power plant right now

This is an unreasonably rushed or even abrupt decision. In this case, a fast decision is very risky and dangerous. In the 2020s, Hungary will definitely not need the electric power generated by a new nuclear power plant. Replacement of the four operating blocks will only be necessary in the middle of the 30s; until then, the extra power generated by the new plant will cause serious problems from technical and economical point of view. The nuclear capacity doubled this way will trigger extra costs in the electric power system, which will further increase the price of electricity. Such an important decision can only be made after a long preparation and extensive social and professional debate.
