THE MOSCOW DEAL DOES NOT SERVE THE INTEREST OF HUNGARIANS. IT MERELY SERVES THE POWER INTERESTS OF A SMALL EXCLUSIVE GROUP.


The Paks2 project itself is a very costly one; with the additional investment costs it will be more than 5000 billion HUF. This decision brings back memories from the 50s; the only difference being that this time, instead of the country of iron and steel, we will be the country of nuclear power. This decision that has been forced on the country by mere political power will only have negative effects on most Hungarians. Electricity will become more expensive; energy dependence and indebtedness will grow. In the meantime, those Hungarian suppliers who will be appointed by the political power will have the chance to secure the deal of the century.
